RECESSMVMT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based out of Houston, TX. We emerged from the rubble of 2020 with a strong conviction that the arts + the artists are vital to this generation's health, unity + progress. We are known for hosting a variety of projects across Htx, ranging from markets, to guerilla-style installs + pop-ups, to longer-term community events, to inspirational large-scale productions. Our heart in each project is to engage our city in meaningful dialogues about the times we are in, the pivotal role of the artists + the unique creative identity of every individual. Given that, we strive in every setting + expression to be a safe, unifying space for people of all backgrounds.
